oh there is sunshine, on a cloudy day . , ,   hum hum   - we were very thankful to have only clouds in the morning with some sunshine in the afternoon!   88% humidity!

After an opportunity to sleep in -the students left for the Effizi - the big art museum here in town.,  Poor Mr. Purvis was really laid low with this sore throat so stayed and rested.   We went into the museum and the funny statue was the first thing I saw!   Was the man really this grumpy or jealous or was it the sense of humor of the artist?   All of us saw original art from the masters.   Some was uplifting and spiritual, some scary, some ludicrous and some breathtaking!   I will include a round Michealangelo, a wall size painting of 6 women who sat in council in the city and The Birth of Venus.   The predominate majority were religious or based on mythology.

We broke up into groups for lunch and met back to walk and see a little bit of the important history of the city before we had an opportunity to shop and relax.    Supper was in another little cafe with freshly made fettucini,

A view from the balcony over Florence ended our day.   Beautiful.

I know it is short - but each person was struck by different art work and different experiences.

Tomorrow morning early we leave for Rome - about a 3 hour drive.  We eat an early lunch and then go to see the vatican.   The evening schedule is a little unknown at this time.   Sabbath the groups perform their last concert  in the church with lunch to follow.  Then a visit to the colleseum and walking around Rome.
